A double Sunny dose

He single-handedly beats up the baddies to a pulp with his Dhai Kilo Ka Haath. He lifts up heavy vehicles, and makes the goons run for their lives with his high-octane screams, without as much as pointing a finger at them. And if God forbid, he pulls a sucker punch at the villains, he does so with a quintessential smirk as if reminding them that once he gives them a taste of his true strength- ‘aadmi uth ta nahi uth jata hai.’ Yes, we are talking about Bollywood’s muscle man- Sunny Deol. “Long story short, he pulls off stunts, which, had some other actor performed them, would have looked nothing short of over-exaggeration, with conviction and finesse,” quips producer Mahendra Dhariwal, in Chandigarh to hunt for favourable shooting spots to give finishing touches to Sunny’s upcoming Bollywood movie- Bhaiyyaji Superhit (tentatively slated for a January release).

Double dose

Ask Sunny’s fans if they feel the need to see the macho man pair-up with another action hero and even before the question is complete, one is bound to spot a room full of shaking heads dismissing the idea. And they have their own reasons- if Sunny executes all the adrenaline-pumping stunts single-handedly, why would they need someone else?

But guess what, the Sunny dose is all set to get doubled, because “For the very first time, in his long career innings, Sunny Deol will be seen playing a double role in Bhaiyyaji..,” Dhariwal kick-starts the candid conversation with the interesting snippet of information.

Glorious gangster

So, what is the premise of the plot? “It is a mature love story with comic and action elements. Sunny will be seen playing both, a gangster and a film star in the film. Preity Zinta and Amisha Patel have been paired opposite him. The cast also includes Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade,” informs Dhariwal.

Funny Sunny

Majorly a ‘situational comedy’, the film has its fair share of light moments springing out of “a wife’s constant suspicion about her husband,” shares Dhariwal. And since it has not one, but two Sunnys in it- it is bound to have a gamut of action. “.Sunny trained under fight master S Vijayan, who trained Salman for Dabangg and Wanted,” responds Dhariwal.
