Police tortured Ryan International School bus conductor Ashok Kumar to obtain his confession in the murder case of the school student, said conductor's lawyer on Friday.
Ashok Kumar was arrested on September 8 for “sexually assaulting” and killing a seven-year-old student of the school.
“Ashok has been wrongly implicated in the case. He was brutally tortured during his police remand, subjected to electric shocks and administered injections of some intoxicant/sedative prior to being presented before the media,” local advocate Mohit Verma told the media here today.
He alleged that some police personnel had even threatened Ashok that his children would be eliminated if did not confess to having murdered the child. His confessional statement had been obtained by the police forcibly.
Verma asserted that Ashok had carried injured Pradyuman and put him in a car on directions of the school authorities. He said two schoolchildren who practiced Taekwondo were present in the washroom when Ashok picked up the boy from there, while a person wearing goggles was in the corridor.
The lawyer said the management of the Gurugram-based school as well as the police seemed to be shielding the real culprit in the case, who appeared to be some influential person.

A seven-year-old Class II student of Ryan International, Bhondsi, was found in a pool of blood inside a school toilet, his throat slit. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared “brought dead”.
The school authorities then informed the police, which arrested school bus conductor Ashok Kumar. Sources claimed the boy had been sexually assaulted. However, a medical report later claimed that the boy was not assaulted sexually.
