The 10-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her stepfather was discharged from the PGIMS here today. The girl had got pregnant and underwent medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) at the PGIMS. She has been sent to a shelter home in Bahadurgarh town.
District Child Welfare Committee chairman Raj Singh Sangwan said the girl was now under custody of the committee and a detailed plan would be prepared for her rehabilitation.
“Since the mother of the girl is adamant on providing relief to the stepfather, the committee has decided that the girl won’t be allowed to stay with her. We have decided to send her to a childcare institution instead,” he maintained.
