A 12-year-old girl was abducted from the Badshahpur area this morning. The victim was walking with her 7-year-old sister when three men in a red car pulled her inside, leaving her sister screaming. Despite all efforts, the girl could not be traced till the time of filling of this report.

The police said the victim’s family, hailing from UP, had been staying in Begumpur Khatola village. Her father worked in a factory nearby.

The girls used to carry food to his workplace. They went to the factory today and were returning home when the incident took place. It was foggy and the victim was a few strides ahead her sister when persons in a red car pulled her inside. Her younger sister, who could only note the colour of the car, started screaming and ran back home. The village was left shocked. The police were called, but despite all efforts, the girl could not be traced.

“It is unacceptable. Our girls are not safe even in the mornings. We want the police to recover the girl at the earliest. If anything happens to her, we will not spare the cops and administration,” said a panchayat member of the village.

“They used to go together everyday by the main road, thinking it was safe. I am scared for my daughter. I swear I will never let them step out if she returns safe,” said her mother. The police formed a special team to trace the girl and raided nearby areas. “We are on the job and have got major leads. We will ensure that the child is recovered safely,” said ACP Sohan Biren Singh.
