Kurukshetra, April 24

Three police personnel in Jind district have been sent to Police Lines for allegedly thrashing the BJP leaders last week. Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha leader Jaidev Ahirka said on April 20, his car broke down near Pandu Pindara.

“As we reached near Safidon Gate area, a team of policemen stopped us and misbehaved with us in the name of traffic rules violation. We told them about our problem, but they first slapped my disabled friend Upinder and then thrashed all of us,” he alleged.

Ahirka said they made a representation before the Jind SP, Arun Nehra, on April 21. Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Jind police said on Tuesday that the accused sub-inspector, Nafe Singh, head constables Radhey and Vinod Kumar had been removed from the field duty. — TNS
