Three more persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the fake birth and death certificate racket, which was unearthed on Wednesday. The police had arrested three youths in the case earlier.

They have been identified as Bhupender of Aligarh, Dharmendra Tiwari of Bihar and Lakhan Lal of Noida. Lakhan Lal prepared fake stamps at his shop in Noida, while Bhupender and Dharmendra were customers. The accused arrested earlier, including Vikas of Guda village, Mohit Dalal of Lal Chand Colony and Sandeep of Delhi Gate, made fake detailed marks certificates of various academic courses and charged hefty amount from customers. They also prepared bogus driving licence and domicile certificate by using fake stamps and signatures of officers.

Om Prakash, inspector, Haryana Vigilance Bureau, said this while speaking to The Tribune here today. He said several blank certificates had been recovered from a computer that was used by the accused in making fake certificates.

“Investigation reveals that most of the youths used to get certificates made from the accused for getting job in the private sector. The racket was being run from Vikas Net Café located in Palika Bazaar for two years,” he said. “The accused have confessed to their crime and the role of Jhajjar Municipal Council employees is under scanner,” he said, adding that the accused were today produced in court, which sent them to jail. A case has been registered against them.
