3 of Rohtak family killed in road mishap near Badrinath

ROHTAK: Three members of a family, including two women, were killed in a road mishap while they were returning from Badrinath on Wednesday evening. The car in which they were travelling fell into a gorge.

Three members of a family, including two women, were killed in a road mishap while they were returning from Badrinath on Wednesday evening. The car in which they were travelling fell into a gorge.

The deceased have been identified as Sobhan Singh (71), wife Sundara Devi and their relative Guddi Devi. Sobhan Singh’s nephew Anand Singh Bisht, who was driving the car, was injured.

Sobhan Singh, who retired from the Power nigam, belonged to Tehri Garhwal area in Uttarakhand. He was settled at Chinyot Colony in Rohtak. He, along with the aforesaid members of his family, was on a pilgrimage.

The mishap took place while they were returning from the Badrinath shrine. The driver lost control over the car and it fell into a gorge near Govindghat.

A pall of gloom descended on the house as the news of their death broke. Their son Umed Singh said his brothers had gone to get the bodies of their parents, following which the cremation would take place.
