Abducted girl recovered, two held

The police have recovered a girl who was allegedly kidnapped by Anish and Rinku of Vishal Nagar here. The kidnappers had allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 3 lakh from the girl’s father for releasing her. The police also arrested the accused.

The accused had confined the girl in a flat in Sector-15 here and allegedly gang raped her as her father failed to pay the ransom. A local court today sent the duo to judicial custody.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped on February 18 from her house in Baiyanpur Khurd village. On her father’s complaint, a case was registered on February 20 against Anish at the Sadar police station.

The police said after her medical examination, the girl’s statement was recorded before the magistrate wherein she alleged that she was gang raped under the threat to her life. — OC
