Ambala, September 21
The Haryana Swarna Jayanti Gate will be established near the Kingfisher tourist spot on the National Highway-1 in Ambala Cantonment.
The gate will be constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore and will be ready by the end of this year. Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel laid the foundation stone of the project recently.
Goel said, “The state government has decided to construct two such gates. While one will be constructed in Ambala, the other will come up in Gurugram. Ambala was selected for the project as it is a gateway of Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. At night, multi-colour lights will make it look more grand and beautiful and attract commuters”.
