Architect robbed of Rs3 lakh, SUV

A local architect was reportedly kidnapped by four persons here and robbed of Rs3 lakh, a mobile phone and an SUV on Monday.

Navin Goel closed his office near the Mughal canal around 8 pm on Monday and was about to leave for his house in his SUV. In the meantime, four persons arrived there and opened the door of the vehicle. They pushed him to the other side and one of them sat on the driver’s seat.

After driving for nearly four hours, they hit him with a pistol and snatched Rs3 lakh and a mobile phone from him before throwing him out of the moving SUV in Jakholi village near Bahalgarh in Sonepat district.

“With the help of a school chowkidar in Jakholi village, I informed my family about the incident. They reached there and brought me back,” said Goel.

The family alleged they had informed the police about the incident around 3.24 am on Tuesday, but the police did not take any step. Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said, “We have obtained the CCTV footage and will solve the case soon.” — TNS
