Rohtak, November 25
Authorities of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, have taken a serious notice of a bundle of B Tech answer sheets abandoned on a roadside outside the campus.
The bundle was found from a street vendor who stated that he had picked it up from the roadside. The matter came to light after a woman teacher saw the answer-sheets at the vendor’s stall and informed the varsity authorities.
MDU Registrar Jitender Bhardwaj said they would get the matter probed and the erring person would not be spared.
“The police was already investigating the matter pertaining to the recovery of answer sheets in 2013. A special investigating team (SIT) is probing the matter. We have informed the police about this instance as well,” said the Registrar.
Meanwhile, as per university sources, the answer sheets are of students of a local engineering college. Though some of the answer-sheets were found blank and unmarked, the marks of the said paper have reportedly been awarded which indicates a major bungling in the examination process and maintenance of secrecy.
University sources maintain that since these answer sheets were not found among the answer sheets recovered in 2013, average marks were granted to the students whose answer sheets were found to be missing.
Several varsity and engineering college employees had been suspended while some had been arrested in this matter. It was suspected that money had been taken from several students to get their marks increased. The latest development has brought the focus back on the case which appeared to have been put on the back-burner.
