A faction of the All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) organised a dharna on the lawns of the mini-secretariat here today.

The protesters raised slogans against Jat leader Yashpal Malik and the state government. Various speakers accused the government of not fulfilling its promises to Jats during talks on reservation.

AIJASS chairman Bharat Singh Behniwal was among those who addressed the gathering. He said the state government should ban rallies being organised by Malik and BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini.

Dharam Pal Chhot, another Jat leader, accused Malik of fooling the community. He said Malik had a hidden personal agenda and the charge of misappropriation of funds should be probed.

The dharna was presided over by Kedar Singh Kadiyan, president of Kadiyan khap. The protesters submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Sunita Verma and dispersed.
