Panchkula, April 21
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday exhorted IAS, IFS and IPS officers of the state to be sensitive towards people and ensure that the deserving get the benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes.
The CM was addressing senior IAS, IFS and IPS officers at a function organised to mark 12th Civil Services Day in Panchkula.
He honoured eight officers for their outstanding services.
Describing their job as challenging, he said while targets were set by the political leadership, the responsibility to achieve these rested with the civil services officers.
“They should evolve an effective mechanism to resolve inter-department issues to ensure smooth functioning of the system,” he said.
He said various e-governance initiatives, including opening of gram sachivalyas, common service centres, antyodya kendras, had been taken. These would not only help in keeping a check on corruption, but also enable people to save time, money and energy. — TNS
