Despite his diatribe against the state government that brokered peace with Yashpal Malik, the central disciplinary committee of the BJP fails to see indiscipline on part of Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini.

Addressing mediapersons at his Panchkula residence on Monday, Saini had questioned the government’s wisdom of holding a joint press conference with Malik while his men were attacking police in Fatehabad. He also accused the government of making unconstitutional assurances to Jats.

“I have not received anything against Saini so far. He has not breached any discipline,” said Ganeshi Lal, chairman of the national disciplinary committee of the BJP.

He maintained that Saini merely tried to protect the constitutional rights of the Jats, which everyone was entitled to.

“He has said many things in the past, like he wanted the Rajya Sabha to be abolished, since he felt that it was stopping Bills of the BJP government. But all statements are personal views of individuals which do not amount to indiscipline,” he said.

Ganeshi Lal said that Saini was a staunch supporter of the BJP and PM Narendra Modi and during recent unrest among party MLAs, he was of the view that Khattar must continue as chief minister.

He said as far as the CM’s assurances were concerned, there was nothing new which the government had not already agreed to give to the Jats.
