Cabinet meet: 5 toll plazas to go, three to come up

CHANDIGARH: Installation of three toll plazas and closure of five toll plazas was given a go-ahead at the meeting of the state Cabinet here today.

Installation of three toll plazas and closure of five toll plazas was given a go-ahead at the meeting of the state Cabinet here today.

The proposal was made by the Public Works Department. While the department recommended the closure of five toll points after the expiry of their agreements, it suggested the installation of three new toll points near inter-state borders.

The three new toll points which would be installed after completion of repair work include the Palwal-Jewar-Aligarh road, Ateli to Kheri road and Narnaul-Koriawas-Rambass road in Mahendragarh district.

The five toll points which would be closed include Gurugram-Pataudi road. Its toll agreement would close on December 12, 2017 and Gurgaon-Farrukh Nagar-Jhajjar road as its toll agreement would complete on August 27, 2017. The third toll point would be Neval Gheer Garhi Birbal road as its date of completion of toll agreement was November 30. The toll agreement of Pehowa-Ladwa-Saharanpur-Haridwar road, Section 3rd gate of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra to Pehowa would close on November 15 and Karnal-Rambha-Indri-Ladwa road on November 15.

The Cabinet also approved the draft of Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation Rules, 2016. The Rules aim at simplifying the procedure to deposit tax on all types of vehicles under one roof and to improve tax compliance.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal to take the Group A and B posts of Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat, Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar in Nuh district, and Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal, out of the purview of the Haryana Public Service Commission.

The Cabinet also gave ex-post facto approval for the posts of Group A and B which have already been filled up in these three medical colleges.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told the media the government had decided to extend the period of monthly risk allowance of Rs5,000 admissible to employees of the Police Department upto March 31, 2017.
