Cabinet nod to rehab scheme for oustees

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cabinet today approved a policy for considering the rehabilitation claims of oustees whose land was acquired by the Agriculture Department for the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board from July 23,1997 to September 6,2010, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said after the Cabinet meeting.

The Haryana Cabinet today approved a policy for considering the rehabilitation claims of oustees whose land was acquired by the Agriculture Department for the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board from July 23,1997 to September 6,2010, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said after the Cabinet meeting.

As per the policy, 7.5 per cent of the total booth plots carved out in the market yard in the Layout Plan will be allotted to the landowners whose land was acquired for that market yard. The maximum permissible quota for these oustees cannot exceed 7.5 per cent of the total booth plots carved out in the whole mandi.

The oustee landowners will be allotted plots on the basis of a seniority list drawn as per the quantum of their land acquired for the New Mandi or marketing yards. Only such oustees will be eligible for booth plots whose 1 acre or more land has been acquired.

Family pension scheme liberalised

The government has widened the scope of benefit under the family pension scheme by bringing an amendment in the Family Pension Scheme, 1964.

Capt Abhimanyu said as per the amendment, an eligible person receiving family pension will receive the same for the benefit of all eligible persons of the family. Earlier, the eligible eldest child was getting family pension till their entitlement and later on another child became eligible for getting family pension.

Further, a daughter who is suffering from any disability which prevents her from earning a livelihood will continue to get family pension even after the age of 25 years, irrespective of her marriage. Earlier, it was restricted up to the date of her marriage.

This benefit will be admissible to eligible disabled children whether born before or after retirement. Earlier, it was restricted to children born from the marriage taking place before retirement.

HUDCO loan

The Cabinet approved the proposal of the Urban Local Bodies Department for seeking the government guarantee for raising a loan of Rs100 crore from HUDCO by the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, to complete the ongoing works relating to augmentation of water supply schemes. He said the cost of project is about Rs500 crore.

Technical Act

The Cabinet decided to make applicable the Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) Act, 19 of 2008 from the date of its notification: May 6,2008.
