Campus notes: Inter-university shooting championship

Anjali Saini of Arya College stood third at the inter-university shooting championship in Kurukshetra University.

Panipat: Anjali Saini, a student of MA English at Arya College, won the bronze medal at the inter-university shooting championship, held at Kurukshetra University from February 5 to 8. College principal Jagdish Gupta said Anjali had won the medal in 10-metre pistol event. She has also been selected by Kurukshetra University for the upcoming Khelo India University Games, to be held in Assam.

Seminar on sustainable development

Sonepat: A national seminar on “Fostering sustainable and inclusive development: Empowering women and girls in science” was held at GVM Girls College. Dr OP Paruthi, president of the science society, and principal Manjula Spah encouraged girl students to pursue careers in science.

Road safety awareness drive

Rohtak: A drive on road safety awareness and safe driving was organised by Vaish College of Education, Rohtak, at Samar Gopalpur village. The village has been adopted by the college under its outreach initiative. College principal Taruna Malhotra urged students to make the campaign a success. The students made villagers aware of driving rules through posters and slogans. The residents were urged to avoid using mobile phones while driving, and to never drive after consuming alcohol.
