Sulking ever since he was told to stay away from a meeting called by party in charge for Haryana Kamal Nath, former state minister and senior Congress leader Captain Ajay Singh Yadav today announced his decision to quit the party.

He made the announcement on Twitter and Facebook, where he has given vent to his ire against Nath and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

“Friends I gave my youth and life for the congress party and worked as true soldier of the party but my ego has been hurt I quit congress,” Capt Ajay Singh Yadav tweeted.

“Mr Kamalnath you in a month mislead high command and undermined my prestige you have 40 years of experience but I too have 30 years of work,” Yadav tweeted, expressing his anger against the party in charge.

Yadav, a five time MLA who has remained a minister under Hooda and Bhajan Lal, was among 10 leaders of the party from Haryana invited for a meeting called by Nath on July 27 to stop infighting in the party.

However, he was told to stay away from the meeting at the last minute.

Yadav, who had been giving vent to his ire against Hooda in public for several days and had even given a dossier against him to CM Manohar Lal Khattar recently.

“My father was true congressmen and I too and had great faith in Nehru-Gandhi family but BS Hooda is Supreme and others are insignificant Aaa,” Yadav further tweeted expressing his anger towards Hooda.

“Some people are misleading and undermining my endurance and capacity to work for the party and I believe in destiny, God, karma and friends,” Ajay Singh Yadav said in his first tweet today.

Speaking to The Tribune, Yadav confirmed his tweets and said he was quitting the party because he had been humiliated.

Yadav said his decision was irrevocable, but at the same time he said he would not join any other political party.

“I will take a break from politics and devote my time to social organisation Haryana Bachao Sewa Samiti, in which I have been acting as patron for past some time,” he said.

He, however, said his son Chiranjeev Rao, a former state Youth Congress chief, would continue working for the party.
