Bhiwani, May 29

Residents of four villages near Charkhi Dadri today resolve to sit on dharna on June 5 to protest an FIR against Jat leader Yashpal Malik.

The decision was taken at a meeting in the district’s Atela Kalan.

Rajkumar Hadodi, who presided over the meeting, alleged the state government was bent on muzzling the voice of a specific community and the registration of an FIR against Malik and others was a step in that direction.

“By deciding to deploy police force in large number on June 5, the state government has made it clear that it wants to mount pressure on Jats not to fight for their right,” he said.

Meanwhile, a company of the CRPF has been deployed here in view of call for protest on June 5. Chander Pal, DSP (headquarters), said no one would be allowed to take law into his hand. The police said they were prepared to deal with any situation. — TNS
