Child sex ratio improves in Ambala: ADC

AMBALA: Additional Deputy Commissioner RK Singh has claimed that the child sex ratio in Ambala has improved to 925 girls per 1,000 boys against the ratio of 827 girls per 1,000 boys in 2014.

Additional Deputy Commissioner RK Singh has claimed that the child sex ratio in Ambala has improved to 925 girls per 1,000 boys against the ratio of 827 girls per 1,000 boys in 2014. He was speaking at an event ‘Daughters of new India’ organised by the Women and Child Development Department in Ambala City recently.

The ADC honoured NGOs, officials and workers of the Health Department, Panchayat Department, anganwari and ASHA for their efforts in improving the sex ratio. RK Singh said, “There is need to change the mindset of people to completely stop female foeticide. The administration will continue to run campaigns but women should come forward to stop this illegal practice”. — TNS
