Class XII student gang-raped by four classmates in Manesar

A 16-year-old student of Class XII was allegedly abducted by four of her schoolmates on Friday and then gangraped. The victim was then dumped near the Manesar bus stand, after eight hours of confinement. She filed a complaint with the police today.

As per the police, the victim is a student of a Manesar-based private school. She was waiting for her school bus at around 8am near the Manesar bus stand. A van with black windows stopped near the victim. She saw four of her classmates, who forcibly pulled her inside; they used her dupatta to blindfold her and took her to a secluded spot where they raped her.

The victim’s uncle said, “She was abducted when she was waiting for her school bus. Three of her classmates raped her at a secluded spot where she was kept before being dumped near the Manesar bus stand at 3pm. We filed a case with the police today.”

He added, “The state government talks of schemes such as Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao, but when they cannot ensure the security of our girls, what is the point of launching such schemes or all-women police stations. The accused are from wealthy families and we fear that they will try to pressurise the police.”

The medical examination of the victim confirmed that she had been raped. An FIR was registered with the Manesar police under section 363 (kidnapping), 365 (abducting with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person) of IPC and section 6 of POCSO Act against the four boys.

“At this junction, we cannot say if the accused are minor or not. They are absconding and we are conducting raids to nab them,” said inspector Jagdish Prasad, SHO, Manesar Police Station.
