Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced projects worth Rs 135 crore for the district. He also announced Rs 10 crore for development works in villages and Rs 5 crore in urban areas.

“I believe in all-round development of the state without any bias,” Khattar said at a rally in the local grain market.

He assured to Rs 50-crore railway overbridge on Kaithal-Karnal road and stadiums in 10 villages of the district.

The audience raised their hands in support of the CM’s appeal. To recharge groundwater, bores would be dug close to ponds in 100 villages of the district, Khattar said and appealed to the people not to waste water.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to provide jobs to 4 lakh youths. “The government is committed to providing houses to the homeless under the Pt Deen Dayal Awas Yojana, make the state kerosene-free, set up gram sachivalayas and implement the Krishi Bima Fasal Yojana,” he said.

Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini, who was present at the rally, was all praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He appreciated the PM for launching the Jan Dhan Yojana.

Unfavourable weather: 8 hurt at rally venue

Ambala: Unfavourable weather conditions marred Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's navnirman rally at Police Lines here on Saturday. Strong winds and duststorm affected the arrangements. Instead of the main stage, one meant for folk artistes was used. In all, eight people, including councillor Harish Sharma, were injured at the rally venue.
