CM’s flying squad conducts raids

YAMUNANAGAR: Several teams of Chief Minister’s flying squad conducted raids at various places in Yamunanagar district today and recovered urea from ply-board factories. An unauthorised godown of fertilizers was sealed and several overloaded vehicles were also challaned during the raids.

Several teams of Chief Minister’s flying squad conducted raids at various places in Yamunanagar district today and recovered urea from ply-board factories. An unauthorised godown of fertilizers was sealed and several overloaded vehicles were also challaned during the raids.

The teams were led by DSP (Ambala) Gurmail Singh, Surinder Rana, CID in charge, Yamunanagar, and inspector Mahavir Singh.

According to information, the teams raided two ply-board manufacturing factories on Shadipur Road and seized 35 bags of subsidised urea to be used in making glue.

Surinder Rana said cases had been registered against the owners of the ply-board factories.

Sources said that subsidised urea used in the plywood industry cost Rs 284 per bag whereas the price of the technical grade urea was Rs 1,248 per bag. The factories cannot use agriculture grade urea as the government provided subsidy on it.

According to information, the teams had challaned 18 vehicles for overloading.

The teams also sealed an unauthorised godown of fertilizers in Yamunanagar, impounded two maxi cabs plying without documents and recovered six LPG cylinders being sold illegally.

The teams also raided three places where petrol and diesel were being sold illegally. An illicit liquor vend was also sealed near Mazhaidpur village.

Kurukshetra: A team of the CM’s flying squad conducted raids at two places in the district today.

Sources said the team raided a unit engaged in packaging of oil and ghee at Babin. A soft drink bottling unit was also inspected in Sector 2. Food and safety officials said samples from both the sites were also taken.

3 factories manufacturing spurious bitumen sealed

Karnal: Teams of the CM’s flying squad today sealed three factories manufacturing spurious bitumen. One of the factories is located near ITI Chowk, Old Industrial Area; the second one is at Madhuban and the third is on the Assandh-Kohand Road. Members of the raiding party said the factories were being run without valid licence.

The DSP said two trucks containing bitumen, two underground tankers with bitumen, several bags of limestone and more than 50 drums were seized from the factory near ITI Chowk.

More than 600 bags of limestone, several drums containing bitumen, several equipment and a truck were seized from factories in Madhuban and Gharaunda. The police have registered three separate cases. The teams also impounded more than 15 over loaded vehicles yesterday.

10,000 boxes of illicit liquor seized

Sonepat: Several teams of the CM’s flying squad today raided a number of business premises at Kharkhoda, Gohana and Rai. Large stocks of illicit liquor and adulterated ghee were seized during the raid.

A team led by DSP Ajit Singh seized 10,000 boxes of illicit liquor from a godown near the vegetable market in Kharkhoda. Two trucks loaded with liquor bottles were seized from another place near Kharkhoda.

Around 1,000 tins of adulterated were seized from two premises at the Rai Industrial Area.

Another team of the flying squad raided a refined oil mill at Gohana and seized 44 tonnes of oil. The mill owners allegedly sold refined oil using fake stickers. The team also impounded an oil tanker parked on the outskirts of Gohana.

Samples of the seized oil have been sent laboratory testing and a case has been registered against oil mill owners, Rajesh Kumar and Raj Kumarand. Teams of the health and excise and taxation departments were also present during the raid.

Vehicles plying illegally impounded

Ambala: A team of the CM’s flying squad conducted inspections and impounded private buses and maxi cabs plying without proper permits in Ambala on Tuesday.

Sources said the flying squad impounded nine private buses, including seven from Punjab, nearly 12 maxi cabs and three overloaded dumpers during inspections in Ambala City and Cantonment areas, Barara and Naraingarh.

The teams also raided illegal liquor vends in Ambala City and Shehzadpur. Several bottles of liquor were also seized during the raid.
