CM urges people to donate generously

KARNAL: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday appealed to the people to donate generously for the upliftment of society. He had come to Kalidass Rangshala here to chair a function ‘Ek Mutthi Anaj’ organised by Lions Club Karnal Greater.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday appealed to the people to donate generously for the upliftment of society. He had come to Kalidass Rangshala here to chair a function ‘Ek Mutthi Anaj’ organised by Lions Club Karnal Greater.

While distributing foodgrains to women the CM praised the efforts of the citizens of Karnal.

The CM announced Rs 11 lakh grant to Lions Club to take up further charitable activities.

Ashok Sukhija, convener of the club, told the CM that the club has adopted Bada Gaon village under Swachh Bharat mission and it would develop the village with the help of villagers and the administration. “We will make the people aware about the importance of the girl child,” he said.

Minister of State for Food and Supplies Karan Dev Kamboj, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, OSD to CM Amrinder Singh and others were present there.
