ROHTAK: The Jha Commission, set up by the government to investigate the reasons behind violence witnessed during the Jat agitation in February, has appealed to the people to come forward with complaints and inputs.

The Jha Commission, set up by the government to investigate the reasons behind violence witnessed during the Jat agitation in February, has appealed to the people to come forward with complaints and inputs.

Justice SN Jha and commission member NC Padhi, at a press meet here today, urged victims of violence as well as eyewitnesses, and residents and organisations to have a proactive approach to help the commission get to the bottom of the matter.

“We are committed to providing justice to the people. For that, they have to submit complaints or inputs and evidence, if any, to the commission. They can approach the commission office’s at the State Vigilance Bureau in Gurgaon’s Sector 47 or write to the Secretary of commission,” Justice Jha said, adding the commission could not take suo motu cognizance of the incidents of violence.

He pointed out the commission had issued public notices in several newspapers, urging the people to come forward, but had received only 14 complaints to date from the entire state and, of them, three were from Rohtak.
