kurukshetra, December 20

HPCC committee general Secretary Pawan Garg yesterday flayed Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma for his proposal to rename Kurukshetra University after Gita.

“The BJP has been using the name of Gita for its political interests which is wrong,” he added.

‘Kurukshetra is a big name itself and there is no need to replace it with Gita. The Congress will not allow the BJP go ahead with the change.

Sharma had on Friday mooted the proposal before varsity Chancellor Kaptan Singh Solanki during a seminar on the ‘Universal relevance of Bhagwad Gita’ at KU. —TNS
