PANIPAT: A court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Virender Malik has sentenced four persons to life imprisonment for murdering an auto driver.

Panipat, February 21

A court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Virender Malik has sentenced four persons to life imprisonment for murdering an auto driver. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on each of them.

Sarika, a resident of Ujha gate in Sai colony, said in her complaint to the police on November 9, 2015, that her husband, Silak Ram, had been missing since November 7.

It came to light that four persons — Suresh, Satnarayan and Aman, residents of Risalu village, and Vinod of Nangal Kheri village — had strangled Silak Ram in inebriated state. They later threw his body into the Delhi parallel canal and withdrew Rs 66,000 from his account through ATM. — TNS
