Four cases of dengue and 138 cases of malaria have been reported in the district.

As many as 11 cases of suspected dengue have also come to light.

Dr SL Verma, Civil Surgeon, said the Health Department had issued guidelines to private doctors and lab owners that without the confirmation of samples by the department, they would not declare any case positive.

“The department also conducted a survey in the city to detect the breeding points of aedes mosquito and found that over 300 places could be a breeding ground for it,” said Dr Verma.

“Department teams have been visiting areas, where dengue cases have been reported. People are being made aware of the symptoms and precautions of dengue and malaria fevers. An awareness campaign has been launched to educate people about the fever,” Dr Verma said.
