Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister OP Dhankar today launched the Pashudhan Bima Yojana here.
He presented documents of the scheme to cattle breeders and urged them to avail its benefits.“We have set a target to cover one lakh cattle under the yojana,” he said.
He said the government was determined to provide the cattle breeders an identity and remunerative price for their produce. “Recently, marketing of pasteurised milk of desi cows has begun through Vita and Haryana is the only state to do so. With this, farmers are also getting the maximum price,” he claimed. Dhankar said under the scheme, the farmers were to pay only 2 per cent premium, while the remaining would be paid by the Centre and state governments.
