Chandigarh, January 16
A skill centre for training in national emergency life support course for doctors, nurses and para-medical personnel will be set up at the PGIMS , Rohtak, under the Human Resource Development for Emergency Medical Services.
An official spokesman said here today that a proposal to this effect had been approved by the Chief Minister. He said a team of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had already visited the PGIMS, Rohtak, and approved the project. The ministry would contribute over Rs 2.60 crore as a 100 per cent grant to set up this centre.
He said while the PGIMS, Rohtak, would provide space for the skill centre, all infrastructure, equipment ,including consumable items, for the first year would be provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He said the salary of one course coordinator for first five years would be borne by the Union Ministry and thereafter by the state government. Also, the recurring expenses from second year onward would also have to be borne by the state government, he added. — TNS
