Chandigarh June 16

Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki expressed grief over the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Chand Ram. In view of one-day state mourning on June 17 as a mark of respect to Chand Ram, Solanki has cancelled all his programmes at Raj Bhawan scheduled for tomorrow.

In a condolence message, Solanki described Chand Ram as an efficient administrator, seasoned politician and popular leader. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Lapses in Chand Ram’s treatment?

Close on the heels of the alleged lapses in the treatment of late Haryana Chief Minister Hukam Singh, similar allegations have been levelled in the case of former Union Minister Chand Ram, who passed away at the PGIMS in Rohtak on Monday

However, family members of the late leader do not appear keen to pursue the allegations. Reportedly, Chand Ram had written a letter to the University of Health Sciences (UHS) authorities, asking them to improve the working of PGIMS

Chand Ram’s private secretary Sarjit told reporters on Tuesday there was a delay in the provision of dialysis to the late minister, though he later backtracked

UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof OP Kalra stated there was no lapse in the treatment and he had not received any letter by the late leader so far — TNS
