Seeking separate quota for reservation, members of Valmiki community organised a ‘Mahadalit Sammelan- Lalkar Rally’ in Kurukshetra and accused the BJP government of betrayal.

Darshan Ratna Ravan, head of Adi Dharma Samaj said, “The BJP has cheated the community. It showed us a fake manifesto, assured us of fulfilling our demands and obtained over votes. We are here to challenge the government. We will take revenge in the Bihar polls and its effect will be shown in all the upcoming elections across the country.”

He said, “The Modi government had discriminated with the Dalit samaj and had decreased its budget by Rs 32,000 crore and the chapters related to Dalit leaders were being removed from the NCERT.”

Yogendra Yadav, who was also present on this occasion, extended his support to the community. Later, talking to The Tribune, Yadav said, “The Valmiki community is among the communities that got reservation, but it didn’t get its share as a big chunk of reservation is being enjoyed by a few communities. There are several communities that didn’t get the benefit despite getting the reservation.”

On AAP leaders leaving the party in Punjab, Yogendra Yadav said, “No outsider is responsible for the situation of Aam Admi Party in Punjab. People in Punjab are unhappy with the SAD-BJP government and they are finding some alternative, but the way AAP is moving in Punjab it has not been able to put up a fight there. As per my information, the AAP will import leader from the Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal in future.”
