Constable commits suicide in Hisar Police Lines

HISAR: Police constable Surender Singh committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in the Police Lines here today.

Police constable Surender Singh committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in the Police Lines here today.

The police registered a case of abetment to suicide against a munshi at Anaj Mandi police post and an employee of the Public Health Department and started investigation.

The police said Surender (43), posted in the Anaj Mandi police post, consumed the poisonous tablets around 11 am. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died.

The police recovered a suicide note from the deceased, in which he accused munshi Jagdish and Public Health Department employee Sunil of harassing him, which forced him to take the extreme step.

Surender had a heated argument with the munshi last night and he told his wife about the incident.

Surender called up his wife this morning, informed her that he would be home by noon.

He later went to the bathroom at the Police Lines, where he consumed the poisonous tablets. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
