Cop booked for intimidating residents of Rohtak colony

ROHTAK: The police today registered a case against a constable for intimidating residents of a colony here.

The police today registered a case against a constable for intimidating residents of a colony here.

A clash took place between two policemen and some residents of Ekta Colony under the Shivaji Colony police station here after the policemen went to a rented accommodation with a woman last evening.

The policemen, who are serving as gunmen of a judicial officer, were confronted by the colony residents. Colony residents informed the SP and sought action against the policemen. On the other hand, the policemen refuted the allegations and levelled counter-allegations against the residents.

Pankaj Nain, SP, said he had asked the SHO concerned to probe the case and take appropriate action against the guilty.

Today, a case under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered in this regard against Constable Sandeep and other(s) on the basis of a complaint lodged by Rekha, wife of Vinod, of Ekta Colony.

Meanwhile, a police team today raided some hotels in the town following complaints of immoral activities going on there. Nearly 50 couples were questioned and most of them were let off after checking their identity proofs.
