CHANDIGARH: Acting on a petition by the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed counselling for MD, MS, PG and MDS courses.

Chandigarh, April 20

Acting on a petition by the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed counselling for MD, MS, PG and MDS courses.

Issuing notice of motion for April 25, the Division Bench of Justice Mahesh Grover and Justice Rajbir Sehrawat asserted that the counselling shall be kept in abeyance.”

The Bench said considering that the MCI had incorporated the concept of rural area for incentivisation to in-service doctors, there was likelihood that the exercise conducted was affected.

The Bench gave the state the liberty to apprise the court after completing the exercise of identifying rural areas. — TNS
