Jhajjar, February 21
A court of Additional Session Judge today sentenced seven members of a family, including three women, to life imprisonment for killing two brothers in Dabauda Khurd village under the Bahadurgarh subdivision over three years ago.
The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 21,000 on each of them. One of the deceased was employed in the Delhi Police, while another was serving in the Army.
Narayan Singh Chahar, advocate of the complainant, said the police had registered a case under Sections 302, 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Arms Act against Ran Singh, Jitender, Jaibir alias Shastri, Jaipal alias Tamka, Saroj, Kiran and Kamla on the complaint of Suresh, younger brother of the deceased, in this regard.
In his complaint, Suresh said the accused attacked his elder brothers — Anil and Sunil — with firearms and other weapons in Dabauda Khurd village on September 21, 2013, over some petty issue. The accused fled the spot after inflicting serious injuries to both the brothers, who were taken to hospital in Bahadurgarh. From there, they were referred to Delhi in view of their critical condition, said Chahar.
He said Anil, a Delhi cop, and Sunil, an Army man, succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The police arrested all accused and recovered weapons used in the crime. — TNS
