5 held for double murder

SONEPAT: The police have arrested two youths for alleged involvement in a double murder case.

Sonepat, February 21

The police have arrested two youths for alleged involvement in a double murder case. The accused — Rahul of Agwanpur village and Bhopal of Atawala village — were sent into six-day police custody by a local court here today.

Nitin of Garhi Kesri village had lodged a police complaint stating that his uncle, Pawan, was shot dead by 5-6 unidentified armed youths on December 24.

Pradeep of Budha Khera village in Jind district was also killed in the incident. The police had registered a case of murder.

In another case, the police today arrested Santosh of Jahangirpuri in Delhi, Ranjit of Basant Vihar (Delhi) and Devender of Rohat village in the district, for allegedly looting Rs 38 lakh from Deepak of Pushpanjali Enclave in Delhi.

The incident took place yesterday near Hotel Sagar Ratan on the GT Road.

The accused will be taken in police custody tomorrow for recovery of the amount looted.
