7-year-old raped, killed in Hisar

A seven-year-old girl was killed after being sexually assaulted by a youth in Kapro village on Narnaund block in the district last night.

 The girl’s body was found lying in the fields on the outskirts of the village.  The girl’s mother complained to the police today stating that she along with her daughter, a class II student, had gone to the fields last evening to bring fodder. 

She said a neighbour, Ashok Kumar, reached the field and asked her daughter to accompany him. Unmindful of his intentions, the girl went along with him. However, when she did not return till late in the night, the mother asked Ashok about the girl but he failed to give a convincing reply. 

 The family later started looking for the girl and found her half-naked body in a jowar field. The post-mortem examination revealed that she had been sexually assaulted and later killed by twisting her neck. 

 Ashok Kumar has been booked. The accused is still at large.
