The Haryana Government has prepared a detailed security plan to thwart any attempt of Jats to restart an agitation for reservation.

“The government is monitoring all developments in the state. This time, we will neither spare anyone nor give time to anyone to act against the state. A special plan is in place to tackle those who are try to spoil peace. There is no reason to worry,” Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu told the media here today.

He refused to comment on Director General of Police (DGP) KP Singh’s controversial remark. He had, on Thursday, said the law gave every citizen the right to take the life of a criminal trying to kill a person, destroy property, or outrage the modesty of a woman. “Only the DGP can comment,” Capt Abhimanyu said.

The minister, meanwhile, gave a twist to a controversy surrounding the Prakash Singh Committee report that looked into the role of officers in the Jat agitation. He said the government believed that Singh could not cover all aspects because of time constraint.

“Prakash Singh worked hard to prepare the report within the deadline. But there are chances that he might have been unable to investigate all aspects of the agitation. The government is checking whether or not something was left out,” the minister said when asked about the delay in making the report public.

On whether the government has completed its action against erring officers, as recommended by the committee, he said that to date, the government had completed only administrative action by suspending officers concerned. He further clarified that in near future, officers would also face departmental and legal action.

“Before taking complete action, we need to study the report thoroughly,” he said.

He claimed strong evidence had emerged, proving the involvement of Congress leaders in the Jat agitation.
