Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala today alleged that the MPLAD funds could not be utilised due to laxity on the part of officials. He said Rs 15 crore should have been utilised but only Rs 10 crore had been spent so far.

He held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy commissioner, municipal commissioner and other district officials. He said though he had recommended several development works, officials concerned were delaying preparation of estimates, leading to inordinate delay in the implementation of the projects and release of grant.

He asked the Deputy Commissioner to serve a seven-day ultimatum on the officials who were unable to prepare the estimates of the projects. “It’s unfortunate that the estimates of some works are yet to be prepared though these were approved about two years ago in Narnaund, Hansi, Jind and Bhiwani areas. I will also write to the state government to take disciplinary action against such officials,” he said while urging them to expedite the projects.
