Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday suspended District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) Saroj Bala Gur and clerk Rajesh Kumar for allegedly delaying the disbursement of leave travel concession (LTC) to a teacher. The action was taken on the basis of a report submitted by SDM Narinder Malik during the District Public Relation and Grievances Committee meeting held at Panchayat Bhawan here on Thursday.

Raj Kumar, a government teacher of Chamarkhera village, had alleged in the last meeting that his LTC had been delayed intentionally, while those who had applied after him had received it. The DEEO had claimed the LTC had not been issued to anyone due to fund crunch.

While addressing mediapersons, the minister said that according to inquiry report LTC was issued to four teachers who had applied after the complainant.

He said the DEEO and the clerk misguided the committee over the issue. “I have suspended both the DEEO and clerk for their negligence,” said Saini.

Reacting to a complaint by Balbir Singh of Bhenikhurd village, the minister directed the sarpanch to send a proposal to the Irrigation Department for providing water to the fields. Balbir Singh had alleged that houses constructed illegally on the land belonging to the Irrigation Department had blocked the flow of water from the drain to his fields.
