Congress leader and former Haryana Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav quit the party on Friday citing mistreatment and humiliation in the party.

In a series of tweets on Friday, he blamed Kamal Nath, the person in charge of the party’s affairs in Haryana, and former chief minister Bhupinder Hooda for his resignation.

Yadav is believed to be upset over being told to not to attend a party meeting convened by Nath.

“Mr Kamalnath you in a month mislead high command and undermined my prestige you have 40 years of experience but I too have 30 years of work," Yadav wrote on Twitter.

"Some people are misleading and undermining my endurance and capacity to work for the party and I believe in destiny,God,karma and friends (sic)," Yadav tweeted before he announced his resignation.

“Friends I gave my youth and life for the congress party and worked as true soldier of the party but my ego has been hurt I quit congress,” another tweet read.

"My father was true congressmen and I too and had great faith in Nehru-Gandhi family but BS Hooda is Supreme and others are insignificant Aaa (sic)," a third tweet said.

Yadav confirmed his resignation.

Yadav, a five time MLA who was a minister under former chief ministers Bhupinder Hooda and Bhajan Lal, was among 10 leaders of the party from Haryana invited for a meeting called by Nath on July 27 to stop infighting in the party.

However, he was told to stay away from the meeting at the last minute.

Yadav, who had been giving vent to his ire against Hooda in the public for the past several days and had even given a dossier against him to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently, held the former chief minister for his last minute exclusion from the meeting.
