Bhiwani: Threat looms over 17,000 quintal of DAP fertilisers, barley and gram grains worth crores stored in the Haryana Warehousing Corporation godown at New Katmandi as water has entered its premises due to incessant rain in the last five days. Rajesh Sakrodia, a commission agent at the grain market, said the godown was located in a low-lying area and due to poor drainage, it was the first place where water accumulated. He said waterlogging in the compound of the godown had been an old problem, but it was being neglected by the authorities concerned. District Manager Satbir Singh said they had started shifting the stock to a safe location. He said the godown had stored around 14,000 quintal fertiliser and 3,000 quintal barely and gram. He admitted that waterlogging was not a new problem, but the department was looking for a permanent solution. Sat Singh, TNS
