Four Panipat youths nabbed for looting

PANIPAT: The police have arrested four youths for allegedly looting people near Namunda village of the district.



Panipat, January 21

The police have arrested four youths for allegedly looting people near Namunda village of the district.

Sub-Inspector Chhabil Singh, in charge of the CIA-3 team, said two country-made pistols, two cartridges, two mobile phones and four purses were recovered from the possession of the accused.

The accused were arrested during police patrolling on the Sewah-Dahar road last night, he said. The accused on a motorcycle tried to escape, but the police team managed to nab them, he said.

The accused have identified as Deepak alias Bhaji of Kamala village in Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, but presently residing in Rasoolpur village of Sonepat district, Sandeep alias Takla of Bhora village, Shagun alias Kala and Deepak, both residents of Atayal in Sonepat.

During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to five incidents of snatching in Panipat district and one incident in UP. The accused were today produced in a court which sent them to one-day police remand. — TNS
