Govt, PNB sign MoU on employees' loan

CHANDIGARH: The state government has become the first state in the country to have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a public sector bank, the Punjab National Bank, for giving housing and other loans to its employees under its existing Staff Loan Schemes.

The state government has become the first state in the country to have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a public sector bank, the Punjab National Bank, for giving housing and other loans to its employees under its existing Staff Loan Schemes.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Capt Abhimanyu, Finance Minister; DS Dhesi, Chief Secretary; and AK Dargan, zonal manager, Punjab National Bank, Haryana Zone, Chandigarh.

A bank draft of Rs 623 crore was presented to the Chief Minister by Dargan for taking over the existing retail loan portfolio, which is outstanding/payable by the existing employees to the state government.
