KAITHAL: Justice Lisa Gill of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the inspecting Judge of the Kaithal Sessions Division inspected local courts yesterday.

Justice Lisa Gill of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the inspecting Judge of the Kaithal Sessions Division inspected local courts yesterday.

Justice Gill, while interacting with District and Sessions Judge Shalini Singh Nagpal and other judicial officials, asked them about the functioning of the courts. She also addressed members of the District Bar Association (DBA) and sought their cooperation in fast disposal of cases.

Justice Gill underlined the need for better coordination between the Bar and the Bench for smooth functioning of the judicial system.

She reportedly sought information on child protection and other schemes for welfare of different sections of society. She asked SP Sumer Partap Singh to take effective steps to check drug peddling in areas adjoining Punjab. Judicial officers along with DBA president Balraj Nouch, office-bearers and others were present on the occasion. — OC
