K’shetra admn to spend Rs 169 crore on roads

KURUKSHETRA: District authorities today said Rs 169 crore would be spent to improve 350-km-long road network in the district during the current financial year.

Kurukshetra, January 16

District authorities today said Rs 169 crore would be spent to improve 350-km-long road network in the district during the current financial year.

At a review meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sumedha Kataria said more than 60 per cent to strengthen roads had already been completed. She said a proposal of Barna village panchayat to build a gaushala on 8 acre was being reviewed. She said the administration was in the process to identify land to rehabilitate stray animals and the panchayats proposal would be scrutinised for the purpose.

As many as 3,274 complaints were received at the CM Window from the district and 3,035 have been already been disposed off, said the DC.

She said the Chief Minister had announced 120 development projects for the districts and work was at different stages for implementation. Kataria said performance of the officials was being reviewed and due action would be taken for delay in processing paper works and implementation of the projects. — TNS
