Govt working on affordable housing policy: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the state government is actively working on a policy to provide affordable housing facility to the people in the state and to ensure planned development in order to check the mushrooming of unauthorized colonies.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the state government is actively working on a policy to provide affordable housing facility to the people in the state and to ensure planned development in order to check the mushrooming of unauthorized colonies. Besides, he also approved the project estimates amounting to Rs 237.07 crores for various development works to be executed in different urban estates.

The Chief Minister, who is also the chairman of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), was presiding over the 39th meeting of the its Sub Committee here today.

He said out of total expenditure on development works, Rs 94.88 crore would be incurred in Panipat, Rs 42.83 crore in Gurgaon, Rs 12.90 crore in Panchkula, Rs 10.30 crore in the Pinjore-Kalka Urban Complex, Rs 19.31 crore in Taraori (Karnal), Rs 32.22 crore in Kurukshetra, Rs 12.50 crore in Safidon (Jind) and Rs 12.13 crore in Roz-ka-Meo (Mewat).

While Rs 49.63 crore will be incurred on the construction of a sewage treatment plant (STP) for 30 MLD capacity and providing an external sewerage scheme for various sectors for zone-II Urban Estate, Panipat, Rs 45.25 crores will be spent on the construction of second unit of Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) of 21 MLD capacity for dyeing unit in Sector-29, Part II, Panipat. Similarly, Rs 32.22 crore would be spent on the construction of an RCC rectangular open drain parallel to Saraswati creek for sewage from disposal work in Sector 13, Urban Estate, Kurukhetra, and from the Public Health STP point to Narwana branch, Jyotisar.

The Authority also approved Rs 19.31 crore for the construction of 24 meter, 18 meter and 12 meter wide roads in Sector 1, Taraori, Karnal district; Rs 12.90 crore for the construction of a Director, Sports, office building in Tau Devi Lal, HUDA Sports Complex, Sector 3, Panchkula; Rs 12.50 crore for construction of internal roads in Sector 9, Safidon, Jind district; Rs 22.75 crore for the construction of a multipurpose hall in Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Sector 38, Gurgaon; Rs 20.08 crore for the construction of HUDA Country Club and Health Club Building in Sector56, Gurgaon, among others.

Plot management system

HUDA has implemented the Property and Plot Management System under which about 3 lakh allottees in the state have been provided unique IDs and passwords to enable them check their property status online. Meanwhile, Khattar said the land for setting up institutional sites in high-potential zones should be given through auction and the rest of the area should be allotted as per the existing policy at subsidized rates.
