The Haryana Assembly on Tuesday admitted a privilege motion against Congress legislator Karan Dalal for making objectionable remarks on Monday against state ministers even as Congress MLAs staged a walk out in protest against the resolution.

BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta proposed to bring a privilege motion against the Congress MLA from Palwal for misleading the House which was admitted by Speaker Kanwar Pal following which the opposition Congress members walked out of the House.

Gupta while moving the privilege motion said Dalal during a discussion on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana yesterday had said, "30 per cent of total amount goes to Haryana minister's pockets" which was totally wrong and he even could not substantiate his accusation with any poof.

Gupta said the matter should be referred to the privilege committee which should submit its report during the first meeting of the next session.

Immediately after the Privilege Motion was admitted by the Speaker Kanwar Pal, Congress MLAs led by CLP leader Kiran Chaudhary staged a walk out, saying the voice should not be suppressed in the House.

After the Question Hour was over, Haryana minister Anil Vij condemned the remarks of Dalal and urged the Speaker to first resolve this issue before taking any matter further.

On this, Gupta sought from Speaker to bring privilege motion against Palwal MLA.

Stating that Dalal had not come to the House for the first time, Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma asked Dalal to express regret on his accusation against BJP ministers.

On this without feeling apologetic, Dalal said he had said insurance companies give 30 per cent commission and if they had doled out such commission that it might have gone to the Cabinet.

Vij said, "It seems Dalal has lost his memory and urged the Speaker that his audio during yesterday's proceedings be played."

Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu said by making such objectionable statement, Dalal has accepted that the previous government used to accept 30 per cent commission from insurance companies?

Speaking on this matter, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar asked the Speaker that he could play the audio or read the proceedings of the House to know the exact statement of Dalal.

Speaker Kanwar Pal while reading Dalal's statement made by him yesterday said “30 per cent of commission will go to the pockets of Haryana ministers and by this way, the government is sucking the blood of farmers”. “These were your words. You have not even given any proof for that.”

Dalal said, "I am still saying this. If they get 30 per cent then it should be given to farmers." — PTI
