Haryana Police nab five gangsters after encounter

The Haryana Police have arrested five members of the notorious Shanidev, alias Kuki, gang after an armed encounter and seized three pistols, two revolvers, several live cartridges and two motorcycles from the possession of the arrested youths.

Addressing a conference here on Tuesday, Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain said CIA-2 in charge Sub-Inspector Azad Singh got a tip-off last night that some youths carrying weapons were roaming on the Baliana-Pakasma road.

A team led by ASI Manjit was immediately dispatched to the spot. The team members laid a naka at the Bhalauth minor bridge on Baliana-Pakasma road.

“After some time, six youths riding on two motorcycles arrived at the scene. The police personnel signalled them to stop but the youths sped away and also fired two shots at the police team. The police party also fired in the air and chased the youths. Five of them were arrested, while one managed to flee,” the SP stated.

The arrested youths have been identified as Amit alias Meeta of Gumad village in Sonepat district, Sandeep alias Monu of Rithal village in Rohtak district, Sumit alias Summad of Jataula village, Ajit alias Keeta of Gumad and Puneet of Rajlu Garhi in Sonepat district.

A case under Sections 186, 307, 353/34 of the IPC and Arms Act has been registered.

Sustained interrogation of the arrested youths revealed that they belong to the Shanidev, alias Kuki, gang.

The youth who managed to flee has been identified as Sanjeet of Bhathgaon.

The arrested youths have confessed to their involvement in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, car-snatching, attack on police party and other such matters.

They were planning to murder certain persons who had harmed the gang in the past.
